I grew up in the most thrilling of family businesses: manufacturing baby mattresses. (Shoutout, Colgate Kids.) My contribution? Writing every single mattress description, mastering the descriptive phrases of "viscoelastic memory foam" and "coconut husk fibers.”

 

I've had a few jobs — and lived in a few countries — since then, but my love for making the seemingly mundane come to life through words has followed. I’ve made people care about pest control. About natural gas therms. About amorphous “company culture.” And, oh yea … about baby mattresses.
